Your highlight video is your first impression. Follow this framework to make coaches stop scrolling.

The 6 Rules

First 30 Seconds Are Everything

Coaches watch hundreds of videos. Put your absolute best 3–5 clips in the first 30 seconds. If they're not hooked, they're gone.

Keep It Under 4 Minutes

The ideal highlight video is 2–4 minutes. Longer videos get skipped. Quality over quantity — every clip should show something impressive.

Show Your Position Clearly

Coaches want to see you playing YOUR position. If you're a striker, show goals, runs, and link-up play. Don't pad it with defensive clips.

Use Game Footage Only

Training clips don't count. Coaches want to see how you perform under pressure in real games. Tournament footage is best.

Include Your Jersey Number

Add a text overlay at the start: "Jersey #[X]". Coaches shouldn't have to guess who you are in the video.

Add Contact Info at the End

End with a simple slide: your name, graduation year, position, email, and phone number. Make it easy for coaches to reach you.
